There is an overall impression of maternal protection, thanks to the low light filtered through the eight stained glass windows (colours include Chartres blue, yellow and red) which were donated by a number of Verrières families after the Second World War.
Dating from the 12th and 16th centuries, the church is unexpectedly large for the size of the village population. It has a nave, six side chapels and a tall slate-covered steeple. All roads through the village lead out from the church, in star formation. The building is finished with an ochre-coloured rendering with a stone base.
THE CHURCH IS A LISTED BUILDING AND IS ONE OF THE VILLAGE'S MAIN ARCHITECTURAL TREASURES.
